MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD PILOT TV REVIEW!

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, the television tie-in to the Phase 2 movie show the missions of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division when they aren't with The Avengers.
I was pretty exited for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. I liked The Avengers, i loved Cabin in The Woods and Firefly so i like Joss Whedon. When Agents of SHIELD was announced i thought it was a great idea, but when the trailer came it lost me.
The trailer looked terrible, it had a very tv-esque feel. Lost all the cinematic look and that took time to get used to.
The pilot was shown as a surprise in SDCC #13. I was absolutely amazed as soon as it started.
The first clip where we meet Grant Ward is all spyish, which leads to violence, which leads to Joss Whedon dialogue which makes me laugh.
The dialogue is the best part of the show. Whedon knows what he's doing, he is absolutely amazing and i doubt this would have worked without him. He is one of the best directors out there.
One of the aspects that will grow in the season (yes, it WILL be renewed) is Phil Coulson's return. Yes, #CoulsonLives is a thing on Twitter now. The show never quite explain his return, but for those of you who are just dying to know something read on if you don't care for this little spoiler
SPOILERS! AVOID! SPOILERS AVOID! DO NOT READ THE TEXT IN GREY!
(COULSON BELIEVES HE DIED FOR 8 MINUTES BUT THEN WAS SOON BROUGHT BACK. GRANT WARD ASKS COLBIE SMULDERS CHARACTER: HE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW DOES HE? SHE SAYS NO. THAT STORYLINE WILL POSSIBLY CONTINUE DURING THE SEASON.)
...
I think that Agent Maria Hill's cameo in this was perfect. It made up for the show not having Samuel L. Jackson and i hope he will appear in future episodes. The show could really use some bad-ass who people will like no matter what he is saying.
Clark Cregg returns as Phil Coulson perfectly and i think that the whole team of the show is pretty good.
There are few references to the Marvel films and it's good that the show doesn't rely on that but i think that five episodes in i would like to see some tie-ins to Iron Man 3, Captain America and i'd like to see the crew from this Pilot in the future movies.

So overall:
"Marvel's Agents of Shield has a capable crew of actors, a reasonable return to Agent Phil Coulson, some good cameos and great dialogue despite the absence of Samuel Jackson. The show doesn't rely on references and will certainly be renewed."
8/10 (Great)
