One of the most recent cases of people taking things way too seriously was when the Pixar theory was written. If you have no idea of what it is, click here to find out
I have to admit that the person who figured this out deserves credit but no way near as much as he is getting. The Pixar theory was basically figured out when he noticed there was an Easter Egg in some Pixar movie, then he started to notice more Easter Eggs and asked himself, what if all these movies where part of the same universe?
That's a what if question. This whole theory was made just for fun but people are actually buying it. I personally do not like or believe conspiracy theories but this is one i don't understand why people believe it.
I will not deny that Pixar has filled their movies with little Easter Eggs but these Easter Eggs were connected in a way they left holes and Jon Negroni simply made up a backstory for it like there was a war between animals and humans and the machines helped.
The Easter Eggs can be explained in two ways:
• Number one explains little Easter Eggs such as the Pizza Planet truck in most Pixar movies, it's not time-travel and it isn't the same universe. It's simply a nod to Pixar's first movie Toy Story which means a lot to Pixar and they put these little Easter Eggs so we will look at it and smile. The Pixar lamp being in most movies is simply an Easter Egg. The letter on Toy Story that says for Carl and Ellie is another Pixar Easter Egg.
•Number two is that Pixar re-uses animation props and they have a similar style of animation, that is why a car seen on The Incredibles resembles the one on Pixar's Cars. This guy in Ratatouille resembles Bomb-Voyage from The Incredibles and the trailer from Monsters Inc. looks like the one from Bugs Life (which is where the theory is strongest).
Another reason why i refuse to believe that all these movies happened because there was a war is that IF it was true it ruins everything the Pixar movies stand for.
When Toy Story came out in 1995 it was a story which everyone who watched could connect with. It made you remember the times you played with your toys and made you wonder wether they were alive when you left them and many children actually believed it. It was brilliant in every way.
When Monsters Inc came out in 2001 it had the same impact as Toy Story did. At one point in your life you have wondered wether there was a monster in your room. This film says as soon as it starts that you were right. As soon as you turned on the lights and your parents came he was gone. The monsters are also relatable, lovable and funny. The whole concept of them having a door which makes them access the human world is, again, brilliant in every way.
The Incredibles is a tale of a normal and relatable family... of superheroes.
Bugs Life's concept is basically saying that an ant has feelings, friends and Finding Nemo says that the fish talk to each other.
If this theory is true it is are negating all these individual Pixar movies actually are and what they mean.
Boo isn't the witch from Brave, there was no war. You don't need to tell me why the toys in Toy Story have life, deep down i already know. The Monsters Inc. door doesn't make you time-travel, it's what the monsters use to get in our world and make us scream so they can gain energy.
There is no reason for you to believe this theory. This is simply a theory made to say "what if?'. I enjoyed reading it and thinking about it and how bad it would be if it was actually true.
Pixar hasn't made an official response to it but Jay Ward who works with Pixar said it was a very interesting theory but it is as vague as the 911 theories. He goes on to say these Easter Eggs were never meant to do that and that the movies were made by different directors and that those are just Easter Eggs, nothing else. You can check out a bit of this interview by clicking here
The only way i'd buy this theory would be if the witch in Brave actually revealed she was Boo, but since there won't be a Brave sequel and that story is pretty much done and will never be mentioned again, i have to say that despite being entertaining and interesting the Pixar Theory is nothing but bullshit.
Yes, if the Pixar Movies were somehow all connected this theory would vaguely explain how but as far as i am concerned and you that's just read this article should be, the Pixar Theory is simply a "What If"
UPDATE: A recent Tumblr post pointed out some serious plot-holes in the theory which just adds to my point of it just assuming way too much. Check it out for yourself by clicking here
So what did you think of the Pixar Theory? Did/Do you believe it? Do you agree with me?
So what did you think of the Pixar Theory? Did/Do you believe it? Do you agree with me?
Hey good article, i liked your point of view, but, even being a theory, it actually makes some snce cause leaving a a hole between Up and Cars, the time line acepts a war. Another think is, even that this "war" would go against everything that Pixar goes for, the Pixar movies really sugest that there is some feuds between animals, machines and humans, and these feuds may evolve into a wat. Anyway, good article
ReplyDeleteOBS: My english is popo, I'm from Portugal, so sorry for mistakes
But this article makes some good points though, it also has evidence. It probably is just another fun conspiracy theory
DeleteI agree that the Pixar movies suggest this conflict between machines but it is just too much to assume, like the article says each movie is better individually than joined with all those others an making a messy timeline.

ReplyDeleteEven your concept of the Pixar films are superficial, but that's not really my point.
ReplyDeleteI don't get why the Pixar Theory, which connect 14 pixar movies, would destroy "everything the Pixar movies stand for". Just because they're connected, it doesn't really means that you can't enjoy each and every one of them for the message they want to pass (or the message you THINK they want to pass). =)
But then again, it's just a THEORY, it doesn't mean it's true, until it has been proof. I would buy the idea, not only because it's fun, and I like conspiration theorys, but also because it would show the brilliant imagination of the Pixar producers. So sad the theory is just a theory! :(
P.S.: Sorry for the bad English, my native tongue is Portuguese...
But they do have some good points. The theory is really interesting though.
DeleteYeah while its just a theory I don't think in any way it would destroy everything that the Pixar movies stand for. That's going extremely far. I mean wars, theories and such aside, Pixar movies have very deep concepts in them that kids simply won't get. I think that's why adults enjoy the films as well these films show what it means to be human. I don't think in any way a theory if proven true will destroy what these films represent. Truthfully they talk about the human experience and sadly enough war, hate, discrimination, pain, sorrow are apart of the human experience as well. To leave those out is just making the human experience a shallow happy bubble. I mean I could go into details but just don't let some theory get to your head and claim it destroys the Pixar films cause the Pixar films are very deep and enriched with the human experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat he means is that the movies are actually better individually than all connected. The theory has a lot of holes and it's more of a what if. The thing is, this theory is just assuming by little Easter Eggs that Boo is the witch from Brave.
DeleteBy "destroy everything the movies stand for" he means that you're just overthinking the movie with no need for it.
I totally agree with the article.
Thank you. Also I think everyone is missing that not only does the theory make the movies worse, but it is actually incorrect when you take actual facts from the movies into account. I posted about that here: http://incorrect-pixar-facts.tumblr.com/post/55491901411/reasons-the-pixar-theory-cannot-be-true
ReplyDeleteWhat? You delete the negative comments? HA!!! You're so sensitive! Grow up!
ReplyDeleteNo, that was deleted by the own writer of the comment. That is why it says this comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteThank you for commenting. Do you have any points about what was said or was this invalid insult all you had?
Love to chat movies!
Well, I really believe in this theory. The fact that someone on Pixar said that the theory isn't true might just mean that it might be a secret, I might sound stupid but I buy it. It all works out so good, the entire theory, and the thought thatv Sully resambles a bear and that's why the witch in Brave (Boo) is so obsessed with bears works out way too good. So even though this was very interesting to read and not just some kind of guy complaining I still buy The Pixar Theory, I really do.
ReplyDeleteIT MIGHT BE A SECRET? HAHAHAHA
DeleteU REALLY WANT THIS TO BE TRUE TO THE FACT THAT U SAY SOMEONE WAS LYING? THIS IS JUST A WHAT IF? YOU CANT BELIEVE IN IT. ITS NOT MEANT FOR THAT! This is why i made the article!
Honestly I find the Pixar theory very clever but it does freak me out a bit. I prefer viewing the films separately as fantastic individual stories instead of a collective story where humans a wiped out in the end.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That is how they should be viewed!
DeleteI find this theory hilarious and awesome, and is a way of taking the epic, family friendly Pixar movies and giving them an epic, slightly dark and more adult oriented twist. There's nothing to suggest it's actually canon by Pixar employees, and there are some holes, (like the parts with the Cars movies) but it's pretty solid on the whole. There's no reason to get so bent out of shape about it.
ReplyDeleteThis is mostly a rant about people really believing in it! It's just a What If! What if all the Tarantino films were connected?
DeleteIt was an interesting theory, but does have a lot of inconsistency. The only movies that are really connected are those with sequels and prequels.
ReplyDeleteYou want bullshit... this, is bullshit
ReplyDeleteYes having an opinion is absolute bullshit!
