G.I JOE RETALIATION MOVIE REVIEW!
The oficial sequel to G.I Joe : The Rise of Cobra! Oh wait... not many people seem to care.
But is it any better?
G.I Joe Retaliation is about Cobra taking over the White House and wiping out the Joes, the few Joes left have to stand up and avenge their colleagues who are dead.
This film was suppose to come out last year, but then they realized hey, let's change the equation of the movie a little bit which might just make it better, and it did.
Channing Tatum who is the original protagonist dies early in this film (as shown in the trailer, no spoiler here) and i felt that was bad because The Rock is the protagonist one, it's his show and he's the leader. Ok, so we're forgetting the first movie basically and people who haven't seen it will pick it up really fast.
The Joe's fight the Cobra's again which for me was pretty useless, what did the Joe's do before that? That's basically all they ever done? And everyone in this movie has their rival. The Rock fights Cobra Commander which is epic in this film, because he is actually Cobra COmmander not the guy who tried to be Cobra Commander in the last film, Snake Eyes fights Storm Shadow (who totally died in the last film and no-one seems to notice that, HE DIED!) The really forgettable guy who i forgot his name fights the russian and the hot chick (Lady Jaye) fights the other hot chick.
Feels really kidish, cartoonish stuff.
Bruce Willis is in this movie and i feel like if Die Hard 5 was all good everyone would have enjoyed it more, but he's Old Bruce Willis who failed to do a sequel to his best movie.
The franchise is based on TOYS which really aren't that great nowadays and the films aren't as good as the toys used to be.
This movie is by far better than the last one and i had a lot of fun watching it but the fact that the first movie really sucks makes this one seem a lot of fun but i don't want to like it, i wan't to hate it and it really wasan't bad.
So overall
"G.I Joe Retalliation is a mindless action packed flick which is way more enjoyable than it's predecessor"
6/10
