THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 3 FINALE REVIEW!

Season spoilers coming up, see review for the mid-season which does not contain spoilers.

The second half of the third season of AMC's The Walking Dead finally came to an end. As this is a review of the second half of the season i have to give my thoughts on all the episodes on this half.

The ninth episode "Made to Suffer" picked up on the great cliffhanger of Daryl and Merle having to fight each other to the death but the fight was interrupted by Prison group. After a whole episode of "Merle tortured Glenn and Maggie , he can't be here" the season actually got to a point.

Glenn was great in the first few episodes, he was angry and he had enough. It took him a while to accept the situations and to peace it up with Maggie, he later proposes to her and i thought that was nice touch (it's in the comics).

Daryl was always a fan favorite, Norman Reedus is great with the character. In this half we got to see him interact with Merle, he beats off with his brother who won't be tolerated in the prison, he leaves but then realizes what a dick Merle is. We got to see how he was a hurt dude before the Apocalipse, he was beaten by his dad, it was cool to see glimpses of his backstory. In the season finale Merle dies and we see him cry but he picks it up like a bad-ass in the season finale.

Merle showed what a dick he is but in the end redeems himself by killing eight of the Governors men and saving Michonne.

Michonne was a real highlight because i don't really like her in the comic, i find her unrelatable but in this half she had so much character, her relashionship with Andrea was finally shown, she had cool moments with Carl. In the season finale she tells Rick "thank you for saving me" and forgives him for almost accepting a deal the Governor did with Rick "Hand me Michonne to stop this war".

Carl became a relatable little bad-ass since Season 3 began and he had really cool moments with his dad, in the season finale he guns a Woodbury soldier who was "handing his gun" and he's all dark and angry which makes me think it's to early for that, on the comics they did it right, he is like Carl in Season 3. He should not be angry with Rick.

Everyone was fine, Hershel (who proved to be a good leader not just a "God us punishing us" believer), Carol, Judith (who's a baby), Beth.

The Governor was a great villain, he had his argument that you either kill or be killed and that if he was like that since the start his daughter would be alive. He had a great dark moment in the season finale and i don't want him to come back on Season 4 but maybe Season 5. We could little bit's of him in the next Season, like finding a new group and on Season 5 you could touch on that. Or maybe kill off at the start of the next season, just don't make him be the VILLAIN again, The Walking Dead is about people surviving.

Milton was great towards the end, he helps Andrea, he tries to stab the Governor (although he stopped Andrea from killing him because "Phil is still in there", well it doesn't seem so) he dies and bites Andrea and he was THE ONE in Woodbury with character and was clever with the Andre in the chair thing.

Andrea was a problem to everyone, she was really unrelatable until the end of the season. She tries to go to the prison and warn Rick "HEY, THE GOVERNORS NOT GONNA TAKE THE MICHONNE DEAL DUDE!" and i liked her death. She's a bad-ass in the comics and not in the show, she's poorly written but she became relatable in the end. When the Governor caught her and started torturing by putting a zombie Milton in the room. Milton kind of saved her, she was really scared, REALLY SCARED and i can understand why she keeps pausing, some people aren't Merle who chops his arm off.

Tyreese and his sister kicked ass. They always told the Governor "I don't feel this is right, i'll understand if you want me gone" and the Governor always let him off. Tyreese is really the one who made me jump and say "YES!!!" in the finale when he met Rick's group and saw they were good people.

Rick finally came to a sense, i started asking myself "Rick and The Governor, are they different? REALLY?" and he gave a great speech  like the one in the end of Season 2, but this had more power, he said. "You can't let me make this choice and hate me for doing it, i'm not your Governor." He moved on the Season finale, and it was truly great. He met the guy that saved him in the first episode of the show, he was crazy showing Rick what he would become if he didin't wake up.

The season was not disappointing  you can't kill of all these characters because we care A LOT about all of them. The children and old go to the prison, The governor kills everyone else, apart from Martinez and that other suck-up, Rick makes a home for the Woodbury people at the prison. Carl's dark turn was REALLY on the edge, Andrea's death was a bit sad, A BIT. She picked up at the end, i liked the episode were she meets everyone at the prison again and although it COMPLETELY differs from the comic where Woodbury is Hell-town, Rick and Tyreese reunite making a home for these people. We didin't have a showdown? Yes we did, the whole season was a showdown.

Don't bring The Governor back writers, there are other ways, we don't need a villain for now.

How is Rick gonna back off from the prison? As long as the answer isin't Governor i'm curious.

So

8/10

"Season 3 of the Walking Dead proved to be better than all the others showing us how and Apocalipse changes us and that the living can be just as dangerous as the dead by entertaining us every week with new episodes."
