EVIL DEAD (2013) MOVIE REVIEW!

I have to admit that i've never seen an "Evil Dead" film. I like horror films, specially Cabin in the Woods which is a parody of modern horror using the Evil Dead scenario for the most part. And that's why i think this review will be interesting.

Evil Dead is a story in which five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to summon demons. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival.

The trailer for the fim looked visually amazing, and the film uses practical efects which look fantastic. It makes a huge difference. I really enjoyed this movie for that. They could have just CGI'd the whole think but no computer graphics were used and it looks AMAZING.

The poster in which i put up for this review is similar to the one of Cabin in The Woods, but that's the whole point of THAT film.

The acting really was up to horror movie standards, the characters were generic, there's the sart chick, the goofy stoner, the athlete and the hot chick. I was mind blown by how that doesn't make a difference, it does not. The writing was really fine but such excelent performances made me so interested in this film.

When i watch a horror movie i don't care if it scared the living crap out of me, i hate jump scares because they aren't scary, they take you away from the film. Paranormal Activity didin't have jump scares and i was interested the whole way through and scared. I like it when the film is well directed, interesting and original.

Is Evil Dead original? Yes, is it scary? While you watch it yes, is it well directed? YES.

But how is it compared to the original?

I haven't seen the original but this movie isin't meant to be compared so before i watched the first The Evil Dead movie to see diferences i did some research and found out the remake franchise is going to continue, and so is the original. The franchises are going to connect and that cleared my mind of the after credit scene, it made sense.

I had a lot of fun with the ONE film without CGI and it was really entertaining.

So overall:

"Evil Dead (2013) is a gruesome and well directed horror film which will keep you intrigued during it's whole run-time"

9/10
