THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES MOVIE REVIEW

Ryan Gosling doesn't wanna drive cars anymore, he rides bikes!
In The Place Beyond The Pines a motorcycle stunt rider turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective.
I was on board for this movie, it looked good in a drama way. I'm not a fan of average dramas but i really like good ones and for the beginning of this movie i was enjoying it as much as i could.
The dialogue in this movie was good. The plot is very likeable and i was so on board for this film but the ending disappointed me. It became silly and weird.
The film is directed by Derek Cianfrance, he knows what he's doing, you can tell that. He got the whole tone right, some really good chase scenes and there's good chemistry between characters.
The first shot of the film was brilliant by the way.
Acting was not a problem. Bradley Cooper delivers! He can be the cool funny guy in The Hangover, and he can pull off so much more like in Limitless, i like his work so far.
Ryan Gosling was just as good as ever, he plays a pretty cliche role in the film that being said he does it well. He just seems like the same character in everything which is a shame really.
Dane DeHaan is in the movie, he's kind of the same kid as he is in Chronicle minus the superpower. I like him a lot as an actor and i don't want him to fall into that pit where he's always the same.
No one was bad in this film and i had a great time whilst watching it until the final act of this movie which starts out amazing then gets to "Really? That's what you went for!?".
The film really has three acts or stories, and that's what it kind of feels like. The first two amazing and the third fine. Fine brings amazing down, and it's disappointing.
I looked over at my friend and i asked "Now why the hell would they do THAT?"
I can't talk about it with spoilers so this will be a short review i guess.
The movie was good but not great. I did not hate it or even dislike it, i liked it but i thought the third act was cheap.
So overall
" The Place Beyond the Pines works as good but not great drama film with good acting. You will enjoy it if you watch it for sure, but you're not really missing a lot if you don't"
7.5/10 (Good)
