This is a full
spoiler review on Game Of Thrones Season 3 YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
This season is based on the first half of George R.R
Martin’s A Storm of Swords and it follows the book completely apart from minor
differences which only add to the experience. It brought us very interesting
and unfinished storylines for the most part which is understandable for it’s
the first half of the book.
Now if you are wondering why I will not talk about Tyrion,
Sansa, Arya, Jamie, and Catelyn is just because I felt I had to talk about the
season finale more than the season as a whole (which was awesome).
Robb was the star of the season, he had won every battle but
he just kept making the wrong choice! He married the other chick when he
promised to marry Walder Frey’s daughter so then he wants his support. The
whole time he was in Walder Frey’s house the atmosphere just felt off and
tense, when the wedding came things started to calm and then Arya shows up
wanting to get in, they shut the door and guards come in.
I kid you not, when episode nine came it just hadn’t
mattered that I’d read the book, in the middle of what is called The Red
Wedding this guy goes up to Robb’s pregnant wife and stabs her in the belly,
the musicians pick up crossbows shoot everyone including Robb and everyone
including those who read the books were shocked, there is no way where you can
watch that scene and just be fine with it.
Catelyn, Robb’s mom get’s Walder Frey’s wife and begs him to
let Robb go otherwise she will kill his wife. Robb meanwhile is holding his
dead wife and he’s given up, he lost. This is the moment where everyone is like
“Come on, let him go!”, Walder looks at his wife, looks at Catelyn and says
“Fine, I’ll find another”. There. Catelyn cut’s his wife’s throat, this guy
comes up to Robb, stabs him, they even kill the direwolf! Catelyn screams, this
guy comes behind her and cut’s her throat.
People have been getting a lot of reactions about this, the
scene was so gruesome and their favourite character just died. Robb had the
right to go for the throne, Joffrey killed his dad! Then he gets backstabbed by
none other than Walder Frey. It was such a tragic and historic moment in
television and I would actually understand if that was the end for some people.
Some people will not take Game Of Thrones as well as expected and this episode
was the whole meaning of boundary.
That scene where Bran kills the wildlings and Jon Snow
admits being a crow and kills every one, that GREAT scene is completely
overshadowed by the scene that Robb’s whole arc was about, Robb’s arc was about
the Red Wedding building up, him making the wrong choices and when you do that
in Game of Thrones, you win or you die.
I actually thought that that’d be it, the next episode Mysha
is just the aftermath of this whole tragedy, but for some reason my brain
didn’t get it, that scene where Arya see’s the direwolf’s head sown into Robb’s
body there was no human being who felt sorry for Arya.
The season finale was great as well, there was a scene
between Tyrion and Tywin and the standarts weren’t as high, however, the ending
where Daenerys get’s a whole city of slaves to call her mother and you just now
that she and Stannis are on the ladder.
So overall
“With drama, gruesome and the aftermath of one of the most
shocking events in tv, Game of Thrones was at its best!”
10/10 (Masterpiece)
