In Now You See Me an FBI agent and an
Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during
their performances and reward their audiences with the money.
The movie stars Jessie Eisenberg, Isla
fisher, Dave Franco, Woodie Harlenson,Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Micheal
Caine.
Coming into this movie I knew straight
away that it would be really grabbing and have a really interesting plot, I also
thought there would be similarities between Now You See Me and Nolan’s The Prestige
but that is not case.
Now You See Me is actually more of a
heist movie than a magic centered film like The Prestige and I found it really
good whilst I was watching it and I had a good time.
Mark Ruffalo who played the Hulk in The
Avengers recently did a great job in this film and he had really good scenes
with Jessie Eisenberg and the crew. If anyone stole this movie it was him and
it was really nice to see him do something else unlike Chris Evans which I have
not seen in ages since Captain America: The First Avenger.
Isla Fisher is good in this film as well
as the iconic Woodie Harlenson and Jessie Eisenberg who did a very good job.
All the characters in this film seem
underdeveloped but this isn’t Inception, it’s a movie you will casually watch
enjoy it and it won’t stick with you for long and when summer is over you won’t
think “Man of Steel was rubbish but Now You See Me… wow!”
The film will keep you with it, in my
opinion, until the finale where you expect everything to make sense and it does
not do that. I think some people will really enjoy the ending and some think it
was average compared to the rest of the film.
Micheal Caine and Morgan Freeman are in
this film for no particular reason and I think they were underused but it’s
also really fun to see those familiar faces be awesome on screen and they did
add to the film.
So overall
“Now You See Me is a movie with nice
performances and good plot and despite the characters feeling underdeveloped
and the plot never really wrapping up to sense it’s a good time and a casual
watch.”
7.5/10 (Good but not Great)
