While on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, a Capitol policeman springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders.
Whilst watching this movie i promised myself i would not make any references to Olympus has Fallen but after it i realized how impossible that would be.
I do think that this movie, being weaker than OHF should have been released before it in order for us to enjoy it more.
White House Down not only has the same plot a OHF it also has the same premise minus everything that was good about OHF. It is supposed to be a self-aware movie but just takes itself WAY to seriously for us to have fun with it.
Channing Tatum is great in his role and so is Jamie Foxx, their chemistry is great and they have really funny lines but if the movie thinks it's deep enough to make us cry it just fails.
I was actually thinking this movie would be the serious one but it's not, it's really lighthearted and when Emerich takes his exagerated CGI and average acting and try to make a deep movie it's just a fail.
So overall
"White House Down is really lighthearted and when it tries to be more it becomes average."
6/10
