RED 2 MOVIE REVIEW

In RED 2 a retired C.I.A agent  Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device.

The follow up to RED, a movie i really didn't care about. It wasn't bad, it was in the deep dark hole of averageness. So how is RED 2?

The movie from start to finish is a ride, a really over-the-top ride which you didn't hate but as soon as you go to tell your friends about the day at Disneyland this isn't the ride you'll talk about.

Bruce Willis, John Malcovich, Hellen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins among others star in the film. Great actors, in fact, amazing actors. There's also the dude from GI Joe but he is a martial arts kind of actor so it doesn't matter.

The film has entertaining bits and action sequences but all my problems are the same i had with the first one. RED is self-aware, not a problem but all the mistakes the first one had, this one has them as well plus others.

Mary-Louise Parker is completely unrelatable. Her character is everywhere and she is so annoying, we want to see old people kick-ass, at least that's what this movie wants to show us and she does not belong there. At least on the first one she had good chemistry with Bruce Willis, here she wanted to do spy stuff, she sucked at it. It was fun once, twice okay, three times?

Some people did like RED, they thought it was fun but this movie has nothing new and it drags on.

Anthony Hopkins was awesome, best part of the movie. I like good acting i guess.

So overall

"RED 2 presents a couple of entertaining sequences but it carries exactly the same formula and ideas from the first one presenting nothing new. A couple of good performances, more than enough average ones and an absent Morgan Freeman. Just go and rest already."

6.5/10 (AVERAGE)

Did u like RED? Are you going to see the new one?
