R.I.P.D MOVIE REVIEW

In R.I.P.D a recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.

Where did this movie come from? It has Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, the poster looks cool, why haven't i seen a trailer or tv spot on my television? The marketing wasn't bad, there was no marketing so if you asked me if i was looking foward to R.I.P.D, i didn't even know it existed.

The movie is based on a comic, it should have been big. Then, i look at the director Robert Schewentke aka the guy who did RED and Flight Plan. I liked Flight Plan and detested RED.
The fact that this movie is directed by the guy who did RED explains a lot because this movie is pretty bad. Even worse than RED.

Let's talk about CGI (computer graphics). I'm not a fan of GOOD CGI at least when i can notice it. When it's mixed with real props it's fine. Bad CGI? I hate it. This movie's graphics are awful. I have been watching Doctor Who recently and it has better CGI monsters than this. I couldn't buy it, took me out of the movie a lot.

Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds didn't work well together. No chemistry whatsoever, wasn't fun to watch these guys interact at ALL. Nothing is good in this movie, it's all average or awful. The 3D was okay, it made me see how lazy the producers were with a probably high budget.

The movie has a reasonable premise based on a comic book, nothing original, in fact The Purge was more original than this but it COULD have been good.

Jeff Bridges had an average performance and so did Reynolds, the monsters looked bad and the plot wasn't that engaging.

So overall

"R.I.P.D had an interesting if done correctly premise but the averageness of it just adds to the awful looking monsters. It could have been good but instead it's nothing but lazy in every way."

5/10 (Bad)

What did you think of R.I.P.D? Are you gonna see it (don't)? Do you disagree with us?
