The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer's newest creation - creatures called the Naughties - into real Smurfs.
Here's the thing; i like animations as much as anyone can. I really enjoyed Turbo and Monsters University, but the first Smurfs movie was unwatchable for me. I couldn't do it.
I walked into this one pretty pessimistic about but honestly, i finished watching it.
I like Neil Patrick Harris and all the other actors in this film, but this is literally an animation for little kids and these actors are reading such a bad script that they can't be good in the film. There's nothing smart that will keep adults or anyone older than eight engaged in this movie. It's just really childish.
The whole movie is really childish. I didn't laugh once or at least chuckle but there were a lot of kids in my theater who did.
The only time i would deem appropriate to watch this movie in the theatre is when you have a kid with you who doesn't like or has already seen The Wolverine.
I hate this movie. It was awful, the animation was really good and i got to finish it but that's like saying you brushed your teeth after eating rotten food.
So overall:
"The Smurfs 2 is a really good time to kid's who are from 2-8 years old. There is no other reason why a human being would watch this if they don't fit into that category . Bad jokes, bad acting and simply a sequel that shouldn't have happened."
3.5/10 (Almost Unwatchable)
What about you, did you hate the Smurfs 2? Will you take you kids to see it? Did you like it? Do you want us to go SMURF ourselves?
