THE WALKING DEAD MID SEASON 3 REVIEW (NO SPOILERS)

As 2012 ends our favorite shows take a break.

I am a big The Walking Dead fan, i read the comics, watched all the seasons so far and i decided to talk about season 3 because it takes the show in a whole new direction.

So in  Season 3 of the Walking Dead a group of survivors in the zombie Apocalipse finds a prison where they can establish in. meanwhile a lost member of the group finds a city of survivors led by a man called the Governor, who is not exactly who he says or appears to be.

It obviously follows up Season 1 and 2 of the show in which you learn more about the characters.

In this season we meet new characters such as Michonne (who survived by herself the whole time until she joined with Andrea.), Tyreese (we have not seen him enough), the Governor.

The only problem is episode 3, which we are introduced to Woodbury, and Michonne was overacting a bit and it was boring. I just feel we could have put the prison in there and they did not and that ruined it. It was not a bad episode it was just no keeping with the pace of the others which is really a shame

Now the Governor is a major villain in this season as he desperatly tries to control his city Woodbury. However i felt that in the comics he was more evil, and he did not feel right in the show. He is a douchebag on the comics, full of hatred but he is very powerful. I was dissapointed with him until i saw the season finale of the show and it really gave me chills because at the end you get the feeling that he is evil and dangerous and you see the comic character appearing.

Tyreese apeared in one episode he is in the comics as a major character and i feel that's where he is going to be on the show because he just got introduced half way through.

Andrea this season was badly written because she starts trusting the Governor when Michonne tells her not to, she was annoyingly stupid. Her character constantly annoyed me because she almost met her old group but not really, i hate when it happens, it did not add anything to the show. Hopefully i see that being fix because of the mid season finale.

Carl totally changed to good this season, go back and watch season 1 episode 3 and you see a kid who misses his dad, plays with toys. In this you see a kid following the footsteps of his father, shooting zombies in the face.

Merle Dixon came back, we actually met his character because before you only saw him being a dick for one episode.

Daryl is still awesome, and Carol really is a better charcter now, before she sucked, she was a useless adition to the group now she has personality which everyone enjoys.

Rick who is the main character really has a troubled mind this season, with everything happening he has to mantain his group safe.

T-Dog was developed this season, i thought they totally expanded his character.

Lori is annoying, but i actually like her. She adds something to the show, specially with Rick that i really liked. So far i think she left her mark on Rick and Carl and that will develop their characters.

The best episodes were four and eight.

We are only half way through the season and it has been really amazing.

8.88/10

"Amazingly entertaining, AMC's The Walking Dead Season 3 not only managed to keep up the standards from the other seasons, it brought it to a new level"

Can't wait to the second half of the season

UPDATE: This episode (mid-season finale) had 15.3 million people watching it which made the most watched tv show episode of all.
